Regional Health, located in Rapid City, South Dakota, announces an exciting opportunity for a physician executive to serve as the Vice President & Medical Director of the Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to serve in a key leadership position to build, grow and enhance one of Regional Health’s top strategic clinical service lines.
Regional Health has recently begun construction on the Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital’s $58M complex, which includes a state-of the-art facility housing a modern orthopedic suite, therapy services, wound care, weight management, and specialty clinics. The 10-acre complex will also include a treatment gym focused on athletic training and employee wellness, a sports retail center, an outdoor fitness and agility training area, and a sports retail center. Regional Health is engaged in medical training and educational opportunities as well as research studies across their 6 hospitals, 24 clinic locations and post-acute services span 20 communities across 2 states.
Serving in a dyad partnership model along with the Hospital President, the Vice President & Medical Director will provide strategic leadership for the musculoskeletal service line across Regional Health enterprise, including the integration and oversight for the robust, longstanding orthopedic and sports medicine program in place at Spearfish Regional Hospital. The Vice President & Medical Director will advance the clinical service line by recruiting and mentoring high performing physicians and clinical staff and expanding clinical services. The Vice President & Medical Director will improve and strengthen clinical operations, quality outcomes and service delivery and drive the financial performance to meet organizational strategic initiatives. In addition to administrative duties, the Vice President & Medical Director will maintain an active clinical practice.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of program development, provider recruitment and driving quality and service initiatives to achieve a high performing musculoskeletal service line with the highest quality and service. Demonstrated leadership skills in aligning constituencies within a progressive, integrated healthcare organization are required. Current Board certification in orthopaedic surgery and the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license are required.
