Providence is calling a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to Providence Health & Services in Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to be responsible for the overall long-term steering for the entire system. This position will work closely with the SVP of Treasury, VP, Financial Planning and Analytics, Chief of System Financial Planning, CFO's across the system and finance staff in implementing and managing the financial planning processes. Primary areas of responsibility will include: coordination and facilitation of all system-wide operating budgets, long range plans, rolling forecast, management reporting and analytics and system-wide allocations all to assure the financial stability of our ministry.

In this position you will:
Partner with System and Regional Finance leadership in the development of the annual system operating budget and quarterly forecast to drive consistent accountability and efficient use of resources across organization. Communicate results to finance leaders including budget and trend analysis.
Lead the development of the strategic design and roadmap for the System standard modeling and financial planning (long range plan, budget, quarterly forecasting, month end close analysis, monthly performance reporting and weekly flash reporting) methodologies by consulting with key stakeholders. Lead the forecasting and management reporting functions; developing and maintain tools for management, analysis and monitoring financial performance.
Effectively allocate resources by making recommendations in the development of System financial standards and policies for long range planning and budgeting, develop procedures for facilitating resource allocation decisions; and assist local CFO's and staff in the interpretation and implementation of approved policies and standards within the local entities.
Direct the team and be responsible for assigning workloads, evaluating work performance, and making recommendations for personnel actions. Be accountable for maintaining employee engagement in a complex and stressful area.
Develop across the system the annual assessment amounts for the system office as well as other system fees. Present these recommendations to senior finance leadership.
Coordinate post mortem performance reporting of investments including schedule, scope, budget and benefits assessment/returns.
Complete special projects and business analysis designed to improve the financial performance of the System.
Prepare analysis and materials for presentations to third parties including Rating Agencies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
The position requires the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
The position requires a minimum of seven years of progressively more-responsible financial management experience, including supervising staff in an acute health care entity or multi-entity system
Experience in an integrated health system in a headquarters function essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially EXCEL and WORD.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Advanced degree or certification preferred.
