The Center for Hospice Care is seeking a Board Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Physician to join our Medical Staff.
The Center for Hospice Care is the largest hospice in Indiana, with central offices in South Bend. We are a 39 year old non-profit organization which provides hospice, palliative care, home health and adult day services. We rank as a national leader in the top 3% of all hospice programs in the US based on annualized number of patients.
We manage "Global Partners in Care" as part of our mission to assist others in partnering with hospices internationally. We also have partnered with the "Palliative Care Association of Uganda" to provide palliative care for the entire country of Uganda. And, working with the University of Notre Dame, we have produced two documentary films about palliative care in Uganda. We have three branch offices which include two seven-bed inpatient units and a freestanding palliative care outpatient clinic. We are affiliated with both Mayo clinic and the Indiana University School of Medicine as a teaching center for rotation of Fellows in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Additionally, our Medical Staff educates Family Medicine residents from two local Health Systems, medical students and others.
The work week is Mon-Fri, 8a-5p, with night and weekend call and other patient responsibilities equally shared. Employee benefits and quality of community life are excellent. We currently have four physicians and three NPs.
Ideally, we are seeking licensed MDs or DOs who are board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Candidates interested in becoming a Certified Hospice Medical Director through in-house training and successful HMD certification examination, at our expense, will also be considered.
