Develops, analyzes, and conducts financial analyses to assess the viability of financial plans and programs, under occasional guidance. Develops financial statements, compensation analyses, financial packages, and presentations for various projects.
Key Responsibilities :
In your pivotal role as Financial Analyst, you will develop, analyze, and conduct financial analyses to assess and track the performance of budgets in the Office of Health Equity (OHE). This position will also help analyze administrative and patient data used by the OHE. More specifically, the person in this role will:
Manage the OHE Budget, liaise with necessary individuals across VUMC to facilitate reporting and management
Prepare monthly projections to accurately report/forecast OHE performance and spending.
Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support OHE planning and management decisions.
Perform accounting relative to receipts, expenditures and other payments, encumbrances, fund transfers, revenues and/or grants.
Support the OHE team with budget related and other requests, including processing requests through VUMC (e.g., purchasing, contracts, sponsorships, travel, students, etc).
Provide budget and other analyses in easy to understand formats.
Ensure any budget processing and reporting needs for VUMC are consistently met.
Analyze VUMC patient data, provide in user friendly format for decision making.
Present financial data and patient to internal and external audiences.
Learn VUMC reporting and administrative systems.
Ability to clean, organize and analyze various types of data.
Manage contracts with external organizations and individuals, liaise internally with contracts and procurement.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
2 years of relevant experience
Strongly Preferred:
Strong skills and knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Strong analytical skills, including advanced skills in Excel.
Ability to learn VUMC's internal financial systems for both budget and patient data.
Oganizational skills.
Ability to prepare accounting and descriptive reports in easy to understand formats.
Ability to organize work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of management.
Promote teamwork.
Maintain confidentiality.
