Seeking BC Dermatology Physician for Excellent VA Staff Opportunity in Beautiful Fresno, CA
The VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, CA is actively recruiting to fill Board Certified Staff Dermatology Physician (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at UCSF,Fresno, & be involved with education & teaching of Dermatology residents in our residency program plus medical students, medicine residents & other providers. VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS), located in Fresno, California, is part of VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN21), which includes facilities in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. VACCHCS is a 114-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state of the art primary, secondary and tertiary care in major diagnostic, and treatment specializations. In addition, a 60-bed Community Living Center (CLC) is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.
VACCHCS has 40,000 Veterans currently enrolled for health care eligibility and serves more than 28,000 Veterans in six counties in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The six counties include Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa.
Selected candidate will act as the administrative chief of the section of dermatology and will supervise mid-level providers who are assigned to the department. Duties will include day-to-day care of Veteran patients, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Primary duties include assessing, consulting, and treating patients with dermatological diseases who present at the facility. The physician must have expertise and experience with dermatological procedures. Some common dermatologic procedures used to test for diseases are: biopsies, including punch, shave, and excision biopsy; microbiological culture (often called a skin culture); skin allergy patch testing, and Wood's lamp examination. Other dermatologic procedures are used to remove or treat benign or cancerous skin lesions. Cryotherapy, curettage, cyst excision, electrodesiccation, phototherapy, and skin tag removal The physician will participate in electronic consultations (e-consult) to improve access to dermatology care as well as increase use of Specialty Care Access Network-Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (SCAN-ECHO) to foster education & improve care. Will work collaboratively with primary care, surgery and other medical specialties.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).

•Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
•Board Certification in Dermatology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered
