Role Summary:
Responsibilities include ensuring all phone calls received in One Call switchboard are answered in a timely manner. All phone calls are recorded, faxes received and recorded proper and timely. To review all information given by either the patient or the physician's office is accurately recorded. Must work with Diagnostic areas to ensure work-flow is correct.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer all phone calls in a timely manner, utilizing holds for multiple calls
Utilize the scheduling system to document all calls and set appointments for all outpatient non-surgical procedures of the hospital
Utilize and understand medical terminology and have attention for detail when taking provider phone calls
Understand all prep requirements for outpatient radiology and communicate with the patients about them
Schedule new appointments, reschedule existing appointments, and work with ancillary departments and physician's offices to arrange urgent tests
Requests orders, as well as any other required paperwork necessary to complete the patient's appointment and analyze any type of data needed
Demonstrate ability to manage time, deadlines, multiple request and priorities, maintain productivity and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
Calculate patient financial estimates and collect over the phone
Obtain pre-certification from insurance, utilizing online tools and payer websites
Excellent customer service required

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital currently offers the following imaging services: Mammography, Bone Density Imaging, Diagnostic Imaging/X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and Interventional Radiology services. We are proud to say that both our Ultrasound and Mammography services are ACR accredited. Associates have both inpatient and outpatient opportunities.
