Responsible for the ongoing development, direction, and supervision of Materials Management; Gift Shop/Caring Cup; Value Analysis; Environmental Services and Food and Nutrition. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Accountability:
DIRECT - Direct activities of the department and/or programs in accordance with Hospitals policies and objectives
RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION - Assist in the evaluation of recruiting efforts and retention methods
GOALS AND PLANS - Participate in the development of long range goals and strategic plans for assigned area(s)
BUSINESS PLANS - Prepare business plans to support new programs and expansion proposals
KNOWLEDGE - Conceptualize healthcare information required for the future and its relationship to the management logistics and purchasing
COORDINATE - Interact with all appropriate department managers to develop, coordinate, and integrate cost management programs into departmental services by assisting with program development, data collection, analysis, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up
LIAISON - Liaison between hospital/system administration, departments, medical staff and Vizient ensuring cost-effective utilization of products, services, and processes, including but not limited to medical/surgical supplies, capital equipment and technology
SUPPLIES - Ensures supplies, linens, and mail are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
VIZIENT- Coordinate efforts to maximize utilization of Vizient GPO Contracting
QUALITY - Work with appropriate department managers to investigate, monitor, and report on product, service, and process failures
COMPLIANCE - Ensure the department/areas comply with all applicable fiscal and regulatory requirements
COMMITTEES AND MEETINGS - Participate in hospital/medical staff meetings and committees as required
BUDGET - Develop and administer the department's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field upon hire with Master's Degree in related field within 36 months
Experience Requirements:
5 years directly related experience
