SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Medical Student Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of medical student education within the department. This role supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student rotations, ensuring a well-organized and positive educational experience for all learners. In addition, this position provides administrative and academic support to faculty within the Department of Neurology to support clinical, educational, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate medical student rotations
Serve as the primary point of contact for medical students and faculty
Manage student evaluations, grades, and required documentation in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements
Maintain accurate records related to student assignments, attendance, and performance
Assist with curriculum coordination, including lectures, conferences, and educational activities
Provide administrative support to faculty, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements
Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and other academic materials
Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree or equivalent experience (2 years)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in academic medicine, education coordination, or administrative support preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
