Registration Specialist

GI/Hepatology & Medical Weight Loss Clinics

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Location: Spring Mill (Onsite)

Position Overview

This position supports the GI/Hepatology and Medical Weight Loss clinics by performing front-office registration functions and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The Registration Specialist plays a key role in check-in, pre-registration, and insurance verification while collaborating closely with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient clinic operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
• Check patients in accurately and efficiently
• Complete pre-registration prior to scheduled visits
• Verify insurance coverage and work registration task queues
• Facilitate patient flow from point of entry through destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement
• Schedule appointments and interview patients for appropriate medical information
• Explain departmental and hospital charges, policies, and procedures
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect required payments
• Answer incoming calls and assist with patient communication and scheduling inquiries

Collaboration & Communication

This role works closely with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, LPNs, RNs, and administrative teams. Communication occurs both in person and by phone, including coordination with centralized services (I-Connects), to share updates related to patient care, scheduling, and customer service needs.

Training is provided for the EMR system and all job-specific functions. There is also an opportunity to pursue Registration Certification (optional) for professional growth.
