Job Summary

The Data Governance Intern will support the organization’s data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility across business units. This role provides hands-on experience in implementing governance frameworks, data standards, and stewardship practices within a dynamic enterprise environment.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in documenting and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support data cataloging efforts by helping classify and organize critical data assets.
• Collaborate with data stewards and business teams to ensure adherence to data quality and compliance requirements.
• Participate in data lineage and metadata management activities to improve transparency and traceability.
• Contribute to data quality assessments and reporting, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
• Activities to enhance the mastering of organizational data.
• Help prepare presentations and dashboards to communicate governance metrics and progress to stakeholders.
• Support the creation of user learning materials.

Learning Outcomes:

• Gain practical experience in enterprise data governance frameworks and tools.
• Develop skills in data quality management, metadata, and compliance processes.
• Understand the role of governance in enabling data-driven decision-making and regulatory adherence.

Position Details

Preferred Skills:

• Basic understanding of data governance concepts (catalog, glossary, data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management, reference data management).
• Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or data visualization tools is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills. 
• Fervent attention to detail
