The Data Governance Intern will support the organization’s data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility across business units. This role provides hands-on experience in implementing governance frameworks, data standards, and stewardship practices within a dynamic enterprise environment.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in documenting and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Support data cataloging efforts by helping classify and organize critical data assets.
Collaborate with data stewards and business teams to ensure adherence to data quality and compliance requirements.
Participate in data lineage and metadata management activities to improve transparency and traceability.
Contribute to data quality assessments and reporting, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
Activities to enhance the mastering of organizational data.
Help prepare presentations and dashboards to communicate governance metrics and progress to stakeholders.
Support the creation of user learning materials.
Learning Outcomes:
Gain practical experience in enterprise data governance frameworks and tools.
Develop skills in data quality management, metadata, and compliance processes.
Understand the role of governance in enabling data-driven decision-making and regulatory adherence.

Position Details
Preferred Skills:
Basic understanding of data governance concepts (catalog, glossary, data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management, reference data management).
Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or data visualization tools is a plus.
