Description
As a key member of the Ambulatory Float Team at UCLA Health, you will provide both administrative and patient care support across a variety of outpatient clinics. In this dynamic role, you will contribute to efficient clinic operations and enhance patient satisfaction by supporting staff during times of staffing shortages.You will be expected to perform a range of daily and long-term assignments that may involve both routine and complex tasks, spanning one or multiple projects. Responsibilities include coordinating physicians’ clinic and surgical schedules, ensuring all required materials and documentation are prepared for seamless patient consultations, and delivering high-quality support across multiple departments and practices.
This position requires a highly flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic Team Assistant who can adapt quickly to changing needs. Travel to various UCLA Health community practices is required, and physical presence on-site is essential. Work hours and days may vary based on assignment needs.
Salary range: $30.36 - $30.36 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to travel to various UCLA Health locations and being physically present at the job site.
Ability to work various days/shifts and occasional weekends; Days and hours may vary depending on assignments.
6 months experience in a hospital/clinic setting required.
Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health.
Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
Ability to demonstrate clear knowledge of job responsibilities; skillfully use equipment, software and tools required to do the job; and to work steadily to get job done.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skill in evaluating data in order to draw conclusions and make sound recommendations
Skill in problem solving, engage in fact finding, and working as a member of a team
Skill in editing correspondence, reports, summaries for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
Skill in setting priorities that accurately reflect the importance of the project
Skill to speak clearly and distinctly to obtain and convey information with individuals at various organizational levels
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work in a group environment, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff and department personnel
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word including the use of tables, Excel spreadsheets including the use of formulas and Outlook for email
