UNC Health Rex in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist with fellowship training or a strong clinical interest in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) to join our growing urology team.
This position offers the opportunity to maintain a broad general urology practice while developing a specialized focus in women's pelvic health and reconstructive urology. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive urologic care to both male and female patients while helping expand access to advanced treatment options for female pelvic floor disorders.
Responsibilities
The physician will provide comprehensive general urology services, including:
Evaluation and treatment of kidney stones, voiding dysfunction, hematuria, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and other common urologic conditions
Outpatient consultations, diagnostic testing, cystoscopic procedures, and medical management of urologic diseases
Performance of general urologic procedures and surgical interventions
Participation in call coverage and management of urgent and emergent urologic conditions
In addition, the physician will develop a specialized pelvic health practice focused on:
Female urinary incontinence, including stress and urge incontinence
Overactive bladder (OAB) and voiding dysfunction
Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and related pelvic floor disorders
Female pelvic reconstructive surgery and minimally invasive treatment options
Complex pelvic floor conditions impacting quality of life
The successful candidate will perform and interpret specialized diagnostic studies, including:
Urodynamic testing
Office-based cystoscopy procedures
Pessary fitting and management
The physician will also have the opportunity to perform advanced reconstructive procedures utilizing vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches, including:
Blend of general urology and female pelvic medicine/reconstructive surgery

Collaborative multidisciplinary environment with gynecology, colorectal surgery, pelvic floor therapy, and other specialists

Qualifications:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Urology residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
Fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS/Urogynecology) preferred
Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
