Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Manager to support the development and future operations of our new East Valley Campus. This leadership role is ideal for a Respiratory Therapist with a strong pediatric background and demonstrated experience leading teams, managing day-to-day operations, and supporting high-acuity patient care environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience supervising Respiratory Therapists and possess a strong clinical foundation in NICU and Labor & Delivery, as these specialties are required for the role. Candidates must also hold an NRP certification and be comfortable serving as a hands-on leader who can step in to support clinical operations when needed.
This position will be instrumental in preparing for the East Valley Campus opening and will partner closely with system leaders to build teams, support operational readiness, and ensure exceptional patient care delivery.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Lead daily Respiratory Care operations and staff
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management
• Support staffing, scheduling, quality initiatives, and operational readiness
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary leaders to optimize patient care
• Maintain 24/7 accountability for department operations
• Serve as both an independent decision-maker and collaborative team leader
• Support high-acuity patient populations including NICU, Labor & Delivery, PICU, Med/Surg, and Emergency Department settings
Required Experience:
• Minimum five years of Respiratory Therapy experience, including leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities
• NICU experience required
• Labor & Delivery experience required
• NRP certification required
• Experience leading Respiratory Therapy teams and day-to-day operations
• Strong pediatric experience preferred

Education
- 1.Bachelor`s in Respiratory Therapy Care or related field (Required)
- 2.Master`s degree in related field. (Preferred)
Experience
- 1.Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Certifications
- 1.Current State of AZ Respiratory Care Practitioner license or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- 2.Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ability to establish prior to start date (Required)
- 3.Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by National Board of Respiratory Care or ability to obtain prior to start date (Required)
- 4.PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
- 5.American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership (Preferred)
- 6.Current Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty credential (NPS) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (Preferred)
Special Skills
- 1.Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
- 3.Must be able to assume 24-hour accountability for unit coverage.
